Ouch!
Pelvic pain is no fun. I have been experiencing quite a bit of it over the last couple of weeks. I know not every pregnant woman has the same aches and pains, but I also know this is a fairly common one. On the bright side, it is a good sign. Things are stretching out down there to make room for a baby to squeeze through my hoo-hoo. But that doesn't make it any more fun. I can try telling myself that somehow this is going to make labor and delivery easier. harumpf.
Today was an empty day on our social calendar, so I asked Julie what she would like to do this morning and she said "Go to mall and play Legos". Joe's parents spent the day at the Mall of America with her a few weeks ago, and apparently she was ready for a return trip to Legoland. So, after a lounge-y morning and a lunch of leftover fried rice at home, off we went. I know I must have been quite a sight waddling around the mall leaning on the stroller with my giant belly out in front of me. After Legoland, we went for a stroll around the third floor and I sat down on a bench for a few minutes to rest while Julie snacked on some grapes.
Here is how the conversation with the two middle-aged women on the next bench went:
M-A W1: When are you due?
Me: Any minute now.
M-A W2: You don't look very comfortable.
Me: I'm not.
M-A W1: Are you sleeping at night?
Me (with a wry smile): No.
M-A W1 (in a more upbeat tone): Do you have a name picked out?
Me: Sophie.
Both M-A W smiled and nodded and wished me luck.
Okay, and here's the confession. I was eating a bowl of ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery at the time. I had ordered the small size, but the guy made so much he had to put it in a bigger bowl for me. :-)
Tonight's dinner was tacos, an easy favorite around here. Thankfully I have already cleaned up the kitchen. Now I'm off to watch War of the Worlds from Netflix, and hopefully I will be able to suspend my loathing of Tom Cruise the human being long enough to enjoy the movie. He's such a freak.
