No Foolin'
could run to an appointment and then have some rare alone time in the
house. Which I was going to spend cleaning. All I wanted to do was scrub
my nasty toilets and vaccume the crushed cheerios out of the carpet -
how's that for a dream?
Well, they came over alright, but Sophie woke up with a fever this
morning after a restless night. No trip to the Maul of America for her
today. At least I made it to my appointment, and may have even snuck off
to a LYS for a few sneaky peeky minutes. But the moment I arrived back
in my filthy house (I was *counting* on some hard-core cleaning today,
dammit!) they beat tracks straight out of here.
Left with two children, one bored and one clingy, and a mama who's
exhausted in the first place and practically dead after another
sleepless night, I decided that a pick-us-up was in order.
Julie decided that the peanut butter-chocolate chip variety was what we
needed, and Sophie was pleasantly surprised when she woke up from her
nap.

You are doing great, putting people before things. In this case house cleaning. Hugs
As a mom to 3 kids, 12, 10 and 5, let me share with you this. The house is cleaned - regularly. However, it gets dirty even quicker as the kids get older. A different type of mess. It never ends. I found this out recently like a slap in the face! I thought that as the kids get older and help that I would be living as I had before kids, in a spankin' clean house. Not true my friend. My house is spankin' clean between the hours of 9-3, when they are out of the house. My sympathies... parenting is a dirty job in more ways than one.
No one ever told me all this...
Man those cookies look good!! mine go flat, what is your secret?
Hurrah for cookies!
Thanks for your sweet comment over on my Wonder Woman jumper!
I could use a pick me up of cookies as well. Mmm. Hope you get a decent night's sleep soon.
If I had a dollar for everytime I said, "Screw the housework, we need homemade cookies..."
My thinking is this...you can ALWAYS clean the house. You can't always do that sort of thing with your kids. Good for you for making the right choice. Then again, choosing cookies over housework may well be why I'm in WW right now. Naaaaah.
I have done exactly that when faced with a hard kid day on little sleep... only my ace in the hole was ice cream in the afternoon. Isn't it funny how we long to clean when we're not able to?
