Melting Pot? Oh my yum! I too, love that place. I’d be happy with the cheese (who knew the yumminess of celery dipped in cheese?), the mushroom salad, and the desert. Last time we went, we did the broth cooking, and it was very good. Happy Anniversary, and enjoy your dinner! And the new spinning toys. And stop writing how much fun spinning is. You can get a broth based course at the Melting Pot instead of hot oil. The hot oil always frightened me a little. The hot broth was really good! Be prepared to spend several hours at dinner. It was all wonderful!

Neighborhood sales seem to work well where I live… there’s a greater draw I guess with more than one stop at a time. Maybe next time you could get a few people to host their own sales at the same time as yours.

Two neighbors and I did a joint garage sale once. My verdict afterwards: that’s a lot of work for $100. And I will probably not do it again. It sure is fun to go to OTHER people’s sales, though

Detta's is a great place to get a wheel from. I got my lendrum from her a little over a year ago and was completely pleased with the service. She's got a great selection to choose from and lots of fibers to help buid up that stash (ha ha!).

My only warning is that it's a bit of a time vortex when you get there, especially if you want to try out different wheels. My spontaneous trip to "window shop" ended up lasted around 3 hours! Too may fun things to look at and play with. It might be a good "mommy on her own" type of trip.

Also, have you check with The Fiber Studio Yarn Shop to see what they offer? I haven't been there since it opened after I moved, but it looks like it would be closer to home.

Happy Anniversary! Glad you're getting out for grown up fun!

However, get the wheel, honey! It won't put you off the spindles, honestly. They are for different times, different places. But take advantage of the offer while it's fresh in your mind and his. You won't regret it. Wheel spinning is great, as is spindling, and gives you more options for more yarns as you learn.

Detta's is great. It's where I got my wheel, and the service truly can't be beaten. Plus you can try SO many wheels at her place, and play with fiber, etc.

What a lovely and fun-filled post! Your whole family is so beautiful with the girls and their flowers, and congrats on surviving their first dance rehearsal! (I spent 14 years in various forms of dance (age 3-17).
