Work with me here, friends. I'm taking a quick moment this morning to
bring you a silly little post from my Sidekick. I came down to my
kitchen this morning and found it taken over by picnic supplies for 50.
Tonight is National Night Out, and my main job as block co-captain with
my awesome across-the-street neighbor is a trip to Costco for party
food. I'm excited. I'll bring you pictures of the actual event later.
Oh, and totally unrelated, I had this picture of Sophie with underwear
on her head and couldn't resist.
Hi Shelly,
thank you for the possibility to take a look on the American Way of Life!
Amused regards from Germany

I love National Night Out, except that our entire neighborhood loves it too, so good luck driving through on the first Tuesday of August!
We went to our first block party 12 years ago when our Sophia was about 6 weeks old and there were only two other (older)kids on the block. Now there are 4 families with small children (including babies to squeeze). It's a nice way to get to know your neighbors better, isn't it?
Also, love the panties.
Very cute but she'll kill you if she finds out in a couple of years ;o)
Just saying.
Great picture. My oldest DD (now 23) LOVED to play in the laundry. It took hours and generally, I didn't mind it . . . it was great fun and we did mucho laughing.
Hi Shelley,
Just wanted to say that I admired your blankie every day at the Sock Summit – I had the booth opposite the Yarnery. As well as being absolutely lovely women, they took amazing care of that blankie!
Shelly,
Just wanted to tell you I had a chance to visit the Blankie at the Sock Summit. I watched you make it on your blog but really enjoyed seeing it in person. It's wonderful. Chatted with the folks from your local yarn store, they were very nice.
