I knit this hat as a thank-you gift for our friend Doug, who took us sailing and generally
showed us a great time when we were in Hawaii in February. I offered socks, but he wanted a hat for his
North Pole research trip. I included the initials of the company he works for in the pattern on the
front, and he did actually wear it while at the North Pole this summer! Yarn is Cascade 220.
